Graphic 45 Hallowe'en in Wonderland mini album page

Just a quick post today... :-)

This is the Graphic 45 Hallowe'en in Wonderland mini album page I made for Bona's mini album page swap for August. I used the "Jabberwocky" paper and had a great time making it. I kept it pretty simple, but I did some fussy cutting and embossing and stamping... this paper collection is so fun! I have so many ideas flying through my mind on other things to create with this collection, but it's a matter of finding the time to put those ideas into action! :-( Hopefully I'll get some scrappin' time later tonight... but for sure this weekend!!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by! hugs, Arlene

I used a #8 shipping tag to make this fold-out...

I used velco so the tags can be removed from the base and journaling and pictures can be added.

Butterfly Kisses Tag Swap Update

Hi everyone. I'm sad to announce that the June tag swap will be the last swap I will be hosting for awhile. I'm taking a little break to focus on family, work, personal projects, and my new love of art journaling. :-) I have had such a blast hosting the tags swaps and seeing all the super amazing talent that has come to my door step every month. All of you ladies are so creative and bring inspiration to many of us. Thank you so much for participating and making the swaps so much fun!

I hope you continue to take advantage of all the other Tag Swaps out there on YouTube, Blogger, the Beach, Your Paper Pantry, etc. I've seen a lot of tag swap groups open up since I started mine in February, which is so awesome!

Anyhow, have fun and never stop creating! :-)

Hugs,
Arlene

May Tag Swap Details

**UPDATE** (June 13, 2010)

I combined groups 2 & 3 for the swap out so everyone can get back another artist's creation. The swap amongst 2 & 3 will be random since each person only sent in 7 tags. But no one will get back their own tag back. Groups 1 & 4 are NOT impacted as I received everyone's tags in those groups. Here is the new combined group 2 & 3:

Jil

Marlene

Gloria

Karen

Stephanie

Rina

Arlene

Gina

Susan

Total: 9 swappers for the new group

Tags will be shipped this Tuesday, or Wednesday at the latest.

If you have any questions, please email me at bfkwithlove@gmail.com.

Watch the update video here:

Hi everyone!

Here are the details for the tag swap:

* THEME: “BEACH”

* CHALLENGE: “super dimensional” – 3D your tag like mad! :-)

* Make your tag with good quality, heavy card stock or back with light chipboard for stability

* Your tag should be sized at 2 ¾ x 5 inches or larger (tag shape can vary)

* All the tags you create should be the same/identical
* Include at least one embellishment on your tag (i.e. flower, bling, charm, ribbon, etc.)
* Include your name and blog/YouTube URL on the back of your tags so we all know whose work it is.

* Place your tags in a plastic zipper type bag to prevent possible water damage during shipment.

* Include a self-addressed/self-stamped envelope with your tags. The stamps should total at least the same amount of postage as it took to mail the tags to me. NO metered strips please. Please do not send cash unless you are swapping from Canada (US currency please.) I will ship via USPS. **IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of the "super dimensional" challenge, it may be a good idea to include extra postage and a larger envelope or shipping box to mail the tags back to you. Any extra postage will be sent back to you. This will prevent any delays in receiving your swapped tags. Thanks.

Your tags need to be in my hands no later than May 31, 2010. I will ship the swapped tags to participants within a week so long as I have everyone’s tags on time. Any delays in receiving the tags will delay shipment for others so please be considerate of the deadline.

If you don't already have my mailing address, email me once you're ready to mail out your tags and I will send you my mailing address. I’m at bfkwithlove@gmail.com.

Pocket page for your mini-album

Hi Ladies,

I just put up a video on YouTube on how to create your own custom pocket page for your mini album. In the same video, I show you how to use the 7 Gypsies binderie punch and how to apply WeRMemory Keeper XL eyelets to your mini album using the Crop-a-dile.

Here are the measurements I used of the pocket page:
  • 10 1/2 in x 6 1/2 in
  • Score on the longer side at 5in, then on opposite side score at 1/2 inch
  • Score on the shorter side at 1/2 inch
  • Burnish all score lines and trim to make "tabs"
  • Use a 1 3/8 circle punch to create the "dips" in the pocket
  • Use sticky strip or other strong holding adhesive to put the pocket together

Acetate Butterflies for Keep On Scrappin' ATC Swap

Hi everyone! I finally finished my Butterfly Acetate ATC for Bona's August ATC swap! Whew! It's been such a busy month this month... not only working several projects at work, but a bunch of scrappy projects due by month end as well. In addition, my kiddos started school this month and my eldest's soccer practice kicked off a couple weeks ago. In 2 weeks, the kids start weekly CCD classes for church too. Wow, scrubby and I will be the ultimate chauffers! lol! Full time job, 3 young kids and a scappy habit. Don't ask me howI do it... I just manage somehow. lol! :-)

I was so relieved to get another project completed for the month! Yay!!! :-) My ATC base is a 120 lb cream cardstock that I purchased at www.paperpresentation.com. I distressed it with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint distress inks and stamped "create" with StazOn ink. Then I placed an acetate overlay that I stamped with Ranger Distress Embossing Ink then embossed with Peeled Paint distressed embossing powder. The small Prima flower is colored with Green Olive Shimmerz paint (LOVE Shimmerz!!) then accented with a half pearl. I cut out the acetate butterflies using my Sizzix BigShot, then I colored them with Black and Caramel alcohol inks and Pearl mixative. I then applied VersaMark and heat embossing with UTEE to give the butterflies thickness, dimension and shine. I applied 2 small half pearls to accent the butterflies then used gluedots to adhere it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome week everyone! :-)

hugs,
Arlene

Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo

Bona, Marie and I hit up the Scrapbook Expo yesterday, and boy did we have a blast! We were there by 8:30am and were nearly the first bunch of ladies in the door! Of course, we had to hit up the Dollar booth first and we jammed pretty quick! LOL! Although there was a line to get into the booth, we managed to score TONS of great deals at our first stop... AND get a free page LO at a neighboring booth! Marie was even lucky to score a whole package of BasicGrey designer paper! :-) I have to say my favorite booths were the Tattered Angels booth and the Scrapyard.com booth that carried all the Tim Holtz favorites from the Ideology and Ranger lines. We also managed to score some AWESOME deals at the S.E.I booth where they had double-sided S.E.I. designer paper for only 10 cents a sheet --- score!!! :-) We did a make & take at the S.E.I. booth, which was a lay-out using the new Windsor paperline and the super cool iron on velvet sheets (which I bought 10 of since it was buy 10 get 50% off!!) We also stopped by the Close to my Heart booth and did a 12x12 LO with this super cute Owl stamp set. I was amazed by their products (as I've been using mostly Stampin' Up stuff.) I managed to buy a mini file folder colluzle system from them and a colluzle cutting blade and just in time too because seconds later a lady came in asking for the colluzle cutting blade and I took the last one!! lol! :-) Okay... and what a super small world it is. I was just exchanging emails with my GGS sister Velma over the past week... Bona and I were at a booth snapping up some Shimmerz and flock, then a lady walks up to me and says "Are you Arlene??" I'm thinking to myself "who are you?" lol! And right behind this lady pops in another lady and says "Arlene, it's Velma!" OMG, how super funny! But it was such a fun time seeing each other in person as we had only known each other by our blogs, YouTube videos and emails. We took soooooooooooooooooooo many pictures (ok, I kid you not when I say many! hehehe) Velma and her friend Rose were the sweetest ever and it was so nice to see and meet them in person! If you're reading this Velma and Rose.... muuuuuuu-ah! :-) You two are the best! :-) All in all, Expo was such a great time and we did so much shopping damage! I won't be shopping for a long while (hmmm, well... one can try right?!) hahaha!

Marie, Me, Velma And Bona - GGS girls rock!!

Above are pics from the Expo.

Bona, Marie and I also did our mini album swap. It was so much fun. Bona got my mini, Marie got Bona's and I got Marie's. We drew names to determine who got who's. Below are some pics of Marie's awesome mini. I love it and can't wait to fill it up and embellish. :-) Also below are some pics of the super cute mini album Bona made of my three boys. This is very sentimental for me and I'm very touched by this very special little album -- luv ya Bon!! :-) Thank you so much Marie and Bona for your awesome little arts of work! :-)

I hope you stay in touch and check in every once in awhile. I'm slowly visiting everyone's blogs and becoming a follower myself. If you haven't seen me on your blog, you will soon! :-) Thanks again!
