Marie's Technique Challenge

At our scrappy hour workshop a few weekends ago, Marie created a kit and challenged us to create a few projects using at least 2 techniques -- faux gold and paper flower. I decided to do cards because I haven't created cards in awhile. Here is what I came up with. Thanks Marie for such a cute kit and for a fun challenge! Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Scrappy hour at Green Tangerines!

Bona, Marie and I hit up Scrappy Hour at Green Tangerines this weekend and boy was it a blast! And let me tell you... when Bona and I discovered what we could do with the Accu-Cut die cutting machine in the store, we were like 2 kids in a candy store! LOL! When Marie arrived, we couldn't wait to share with her what we did!

The core of the time spent at scrappy hour was working on the Challenge LO I gave the girls (oh, and die cutting with the Accu-cut! hahaha!) The challenge was to create an 8x8 lay-out using only the elements I provided in a box. The ladies chose BoBunny for their designer paper. They had such a blast and oh you should have seen Bona's serious scrapper look!! hehehe! She got down and dirty with the distressed embossing powder and inks. Marie's style flaired out when she bust out with the perfect pearls and faux gold techniques! Go Marie! :-)

Below are some of the pix and videos of our scrappy adventure this weekend. We had such a good time and I'm excited to share that with you! Enjoy! hugs, Arlene

A card for Ms. Danielle

Logan's teacher is leaving to take on a new position at a children's dental office in Roseville, CA. Logan (and Mommy!) couldn't be more sad. Ms. Danielle is soooooooo great with the children and she is so super sweet. On the day we got the news that she was leaving, she slipped me her number and said, "if you ever need back-up care, call me!" Oh my gosh, what a sweetheart she is. We are so, so sad that she is leaving. But her and her husband bought a new home in Roseville and will be starting a family of their own... awe!! :-) Anywho... Ms. Danielle's last day is tomorrow (boo hoo hoo!!!!!) And I thought it would be appropriate to make her a custom card with some cute little photos to remember Logan by. The card is inspired by a video from Angie Juda (aka ChicNScratch) but I used my own dimensions and embellishments. You can watch her vid here. You'll see my Stampin Up! style come out with this project! No Tim Holtz or 7 Gypsies here! hehehe! :-) I used the Sweet Slumber designer paper collection by Stampin Up! and Baja Breeze cardstock. The white Kaiser paper flowers on the cover are stamped with SU! inks in Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red and Summer Sun. The frame is inked in Baja Breeze, then embossed with clear embossing powder for dimension and shine.

In the insert of the card it says:

Things I love about Ms. Danielle...
  • when you greet me in the morning with a big lovable bear hug!
  • when you smile at me when I'm being silly!
  • when you give me big kisses when I have an owee!
  • when you read to me and sing with me and we have so much fun!
  • when you tell me "I love you"
I will miss you TONS Ms. Danielle! Love, Logan

7 Gypsies & Tim Holtz

7 Gypsies and Tim Holtz have got to be my all time favorite scrapbooking lines right now. They carry the coolest, freshest, and most unique products out there. I wanted to share the stuff I got from a recent Bluemoon Scrapbooking order (www.bluemoonscrapbooking.com.) I was so excited to get all the new stuff! I was chatting with my best gal Bona when the FedEx guy arrived this morning... so Bona was like, okay... you HAVE to film all the stuff, do it now! LOL! Anyhow, here are some pics and if you are interested in watching the 2 part vid, click on my You Tube badge on the left side of my blog. I can't wait to get scrappin' later tonight! Yay! :-)

These are some free goodies I got from Scott at Bluemoon Scrapbooking.
What great service they offer too!
Check them out at www.bluemoonscrapbooking.com for your next
