Club LaLa Land Crafts August 2014 Showcase!

As many of you may already know, LaLa Land Crafts has a new monthly kit club and the August kit is beyond amazing! The kit comes loaded with a stamp set and dies and for a step up, you can purchase a kit with materials to create several projects!

I have 2 samples to share with you today...

First up... I created this tag using the stamp set exclusive for the August kit -- Sitting Mermaid Marci. Isn't she just adorable?! And... I love the dies that are included in the kit -- the "kelp" border and the underwater set that comes with star fish, a seahorse, seaweed, swirls and more!

LLLC Inspiration Friday sketch! - "Bewitching!"

Hello my friends! ❤

It's been some time since I've posted here on my blog and I'm super excited to be back with some amazing news!! Irina Blount, owner of Lalaland Crafts, invited me back to her design team and I couldn't be more thrilled!! Marci and Luka have to be my all time favorite images to color up and I'm so excited to get to play with the talented LLLC designers EVERY week!

So here we go....

Today, we have a sketch that we hope will inspire you!

Here is the sketch:

For this sketch, I created a card featuring Cauldron Witch Marci. Oh my goodness, she was a BLAST to color up with my Copic markers!! Don't you just love her purple hair? hehe!!

 I used the Filigree corner die to accent the corners of my card. And do you spy the Pumpkin die? I love all the details of this die including the embossing that brings the pumpkin to life!

Challenge #9: Pocket Mini and Pop-up Card

Happy Monday everyone!

I was honored when Gloria invited me to guest design for her amazing challenge blog -- Craft Hoaders Anonymous. Challenge #9 is "Fold it"!

Use some sort of "fun fold" on your project. You can make a fun fold card, a pop-up card, an explosion box, or other type of project that makes use of folded cardstock or paper. You can share some folding techniques that are perfect for scrapbook layouts or mixed media pieces. Create a mini album with a folded binding. Fold some ribbon to make pleats. De-hoard those supplies and show us your folds....paper folds that is!

I created 2 projects for this challenge. First up is this Pocket Mini Album, featuring an accordion fold binding and Graphic 45's Mother Goose collection. Snap Guide included!

Next up is this Pop-up card I created using Graphic 45's Staples Regular Tag and Botanical Tea collection.

A simple fold to the center of the tag creates a fun "platform" to add a dimensional design...

I used dimensionals to pop up some elements from the Botanical Tea collection. Super fun!

Creating an Upcycled Tag with Graphic 45 and Couture!

Hey friends!
Today I have a fun tutorial to share with you. I discovered a new medium to deliver my tutorials thanks to Joanna and Charee from Graphic 45! It's called SnapGuide and WOW! If you thought Pinterest was a vast sea of inspiration, you have to check out the array of tutorials available on SnapGuide. I literally was engulfed in SnapGuide tutorials for nearly an entire day on my first visit! It is such a great place to find step-by-step tutorials on nearly everything from crafting, cooking, home improvement to even emergency planning! 

So let me jump right into the project and tutorial!

Aren't the Graphic 45 Staples just amazing?! ♥ Well, what about the packaging they come in? Simply fabulous! ♥ Save them! I save all of mine and upcycle them into tags, albums and inserts for my mini albums. The project ideas are endless and not to mention environmentally friendly, too! ♥

For this project I upcycled the Staples packaging from Graphic 45's Shabby Chic Ornate Metal Keys and used the fabulously chic Couture collection to create this tag. What a wonderful gift in lieu of a card! ♥

My tutorial will take you step-by-step on how to upcycle the packaging!
