"School Days" 8x8 Scrapbook Page to commemorate the moments!

Hi everyone and welcome, welcome! ❤

I have another Graphic 45 inspired scrapbook page to share with you today. And this one was quite simple to pull together with a little help from Graphic 45 and their coordinating paper collections and metal Staples embellishments!

I used Graphic 45's An ABC Primer papers and chipboard.

For the base of my 8x8 layout, I simply layered design paper to black card stock and created multiple layers. I added my favorite black doilies to the page to sort of "fill in" the gaps. I love how doilies do that! ❤

The Antique Metal door pull is a perfect accent. I placed one right at top center of my page, adhered down with some glossy accents. It almost looks like I can "carry" the page away! hehe!

I disassembled the metal clothes pin and only used half of it for the "Remember" sentiment. I placed an Ornate Metal Key in the groove and it fit perfectly, take a look.... ❤

I used the numerical stickers from the Tropical Travelogue sticker sheet to commemorate the year. This was Logan's first year in school - Kindergarten!

The coordinating An ABC Primer chipboard pieces make creating a page that much more easy!

I cut the letters from the Building Blocks sheet to spell my son's name, layered them onto black cardstock, then popped them up with dimensionals... super easy! ❤

The stamped metal brads make a fun accent to the corners of a page...

And guess what.... no flowers on this project! Wowzers! That sure is a challenge for me... "not" to add flowers. LOL!  But I hope you like the page! ❤

This project will also be featured on the Graphic 45 blog in detail. Be sure to hop on by to check it out and enter to win the Place in Time prize giveaway happening this week!

Thank you so much for stopping by... it means the world to me! ❤

"Always Blessed" 8x8 Scrapbook Page

Hello blogging lovelies! I'm here again with quick project share for ya!

Last week I received my order from Bluemoon Scrapbooking (thanks Scott & Lisa!!) and I was so excited to start using the new Prima Engraver paper and metal embellishments that came in my order. I have this favorite picture of hubster and I that my son took of us on the wharf in San Francisco. The colors on the photo went perfectly with the Black/Kraft theme of Prima's Engraver.

Here are some photos of the scrapbook page I created...

I distressed the elements on this page using a mixture of black acrylic paint and water - a "black-wash" solution, if you will. ♥ I love the Prima screws and bolts and the Letterpress Alphabet blocks from Bottle Cap Inc.

I used a sticker "sentiment" from the Prima Engraver sticker sheet and framed it in Graphic 45's Ornate Label holder. Love, love!

I used an array of flowers - Prima, Recollections and I Am Roses... my all time FAV flower companies (I love Petaloo too, but didn't use any this time hehe!)

Peeking out in different places are my favorite black doilies! I am seriously hoarding these babies cuz they are HARD to find!! But I have my Cheery Lynn designs doily dies & black card stock just in case my supply of these black doily babies run low. LOL!

Here is the video tutorial for this scrapbook page. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for letting me share my latest creation with you. I hope I was able to share a thing or two with you via this post or through my video tutorial. ♥

Have an AMAZING week!

Graphic 45: Place in Time Altered Photo Tray - "A Moment in Time"

Hi everyone and happy Monday!

What an amazing weekend I had... I got to craft! Yup, CRAFT!!! Time to myself comes in low quantities these days, so I milked it for all I could! LOL! I managed to get 2 cards and an altered Scrapbook Page completed. I feel so accomplished! hehe!! I can't wait to share it all with you. I hope you had a fun, crafty weekend as well. ♥

When I created today's project, I really had this dire need to alter something. A simple card or scrapbook page wasn't on the menu this day. I needed to get my hands dirty. LOL! I've been meaning to create more keepsakes of my wedding day and I had this photo tray in my stash for such a long time. The Place in Time papers by Graphic 45 were perfect for this project!

I used the June Cut-Aparts page and the April Cut-Aparts page, in 8x8.

The entire tray and embellishments are white-washed with acrylic paint/water. Here are some photos...

I loved the roses on the "June" banner cut-out, but I was married in April not June. So I used my small oval punch and cut out "June" and adhered "April" from the April Cut-Aparts page. Viola, an April banner with the June roses! ♥

I used quite a few metal embellishments from my stash, including a bunch of Metal Staples. Washing them down with white acryllic paint, softens the look...

The Metal Butterflies can be easily embossed using an embossing folder and your die-cutting machine. Use your pliers to manipulate, shape and pop-up the wings. So fun... see your butterfly come to life! ♥

I love Graphic 45's Metal Staples. Here you can see I combined the Ornate Door Plate with a metal button, Ornate Key Hole, Metal Clothespin and Ornate Metal Label Holder. ♥

On the side of the photo tray, you can see where I used Mod Podge to "paper mache" pieces of white doily to the wood. A nice, subtle touch! ♥

I used pink mini I Am Roses rose buds to create a bouquet to accent this part of the photo tray. I thought it would go perfectly with the image of the bride and her bridesmaids...

The photo slot is embellished with a chippie frame from Imaginarium Designs...

I created a skirt on the dress form chippie using some scalloped lace from my stash...

Here is a video tutorial showing you how I created this altered photo tray. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my latest Graphic 45 project. Be sure to stop on over at the Graphic 45 blog. This week, Graphic 45 will be giving away a jaw-dropping Place in Time blog prize. Don't miss out!

Graphic 45 French Country Altered Matchbook Box

Hello all and happy Monday! ♥ I have another fun project to you share with you today. If you haven't seen Graphic 45's new paper collections, be sure to head on over to the Graphic 45 website for an eye treat. French Country is one of the new collections and oh what FUN this collection is! Think rustic, French countryside with the Graphic 45 vintage flair. Here's a peek:

For Winter CHA 2013, I created an altered matchbook box using this new collection. I couldn't get the picture of a French countryside farm house out of my head when I starting thinking about what to create. When I think country farm house, I think windows with worn shutters, overlooking the hillside. That was my inspiration for this box.

Here are some pictures:

I created the window shutters using mini popsicle sticks from Michaels...

I fussy cut the diamond border with Fleur de Lis and layered it over strips of design paper...

I finished off the back of the box...

The matchbook box opens just like this to display the layout inside...

I found these auburn feathers at Michael's and thought they would be perfect for the rooster's tail!

Here is a video I created walking you through the details of this altered box:

Be sure to stop by the Graphic 45 blog where this project will be featured in detail. There will be a new Graphic 45 blog contest up as well, so don't miss out!

Secret Garden Shabby Chic Vintage Anniversary Card

Can you believe that Spring is just over the horizon? We were chatting about daylight savings today at work and I was literally like "Really?? Already?!" In the United States, we'll be "springing" forward 1 hour in a few weeks. This is the sign that Spring is very near! Well... the clouds and the rain we had today in Northern California begged to differ! LOL! But I certainly don't mind a few more months of snow!

Today, I want to share a special anniversary card that I created for my parents' 43rd wedding anniversary. I used Graphic 45's Secret Garden paper collection. Such a gorgeous collection!

Secret Garden has the perfect colors and images for your Spring inspired crafts, with just the perfect touch of vintage Graphic 45!

The key to a "full" card is a lot of fun layers. Use card stock, pearl flourishes, flowers and more to add plenty of gorgeous layers. I actually surprised myself when I didn't use paper doilies on this project! LOL! Paper doilies tend to be a natural element in all my projects. ♥ But as you can see, even without doilies, you can create gorgeous layers just using elements from the paper collection...

I snuck a little Staples Ornate Metal key into the layers of flowers. I'm so hoarding these little keys, I love them! I'm on my last few and I can't get enough of them! hehe! ♥

I accented the corner of my card using a Momenta corner piece, and accented it with a Staples Stamped Metal brad...

The Secret Garden papers are so pretty... I love the bird, blossoms and birdcage from the May Flowers sheet.

This is the inside of my card... finished off with love! ♥

Now you can see why I'm so in love with the new Secret Garden papers. They are definitely fun, whimsical and beautiful to play with! And my parents absolutely adored the card. Yay!

I hope you enjoyed this project and give one of these cards a try! ♥

As always, don't forget to stop by the Graphic 45 BLOG where there will be a full reveal of this project!

Have a crafticilous day!

xoxo ❤,
