MFT: You're "One of a Kind" Hanger/Ornament

Hi everyone! Hope you're all keeping your tootsies warm, it's freezing where I am. I was so super happy to break out with my cozy Ugg slippers, which I store away after the winter (it can get as hot as 110 here in Sacramento during the summer time!) But boy oh boy does it get CHILLY here in the winter time. Brrrrrrrr!!!!

Anywhoooo.... here's another fun project I created of my eldest son Jarrod. This picture was taken at Disneyland on Thanksgiving weekend in front of the 3 story Christmas tree! Such a fun time and I thought this picture of Jarrod came out so cute, I wanted to hang it up!

I just absolutely LOVE Flopsey the bunny from MFT. He is so super cute and works perfectly with pictures of my boys. :-) This Flopsey and sentiments are from the "Snowflake Flopsey" stamp set by MFT. I colored up Flopsey with my Copic markers and paper pieced his scarf with some old My Minds Eye Christmas paper I had in my stash. I used the same paper for the frame (cut out with Sizzix "Frame" die) as well as the snowflakes that I die cut using MFT's Die-namics "Let it Snowflake." I love this die, it's so cute and versatile! I used my Glossy Accents to glue on clear dew drops to the center of the smaller snowflakes. Then I used my iTop brad maker and the same design paper to create the custom brad for the large snowflake. Super fun! I trimmed the left side of the frame using the Die-namics "Dainty Dots Border." This die-cut border is one of my new favs... it may be dainty, but again works perfectly with pics of my boys! I didn't stop at the picture frame, I decided to make this little puppy into something I could hang on my wall or on my Christmas tree. I added a little hanger that I purchased from eBay and stamped the sentiment "Let it Snow" from the "Snowflake Flopsey" stamp set. Super adorable, I love it! :-)

Hope you enjoyed your weekend! It went by so fast, didn't it?! Now it's time to get off this computer and get some projects completed! hehe!!! 'Til next time... happy crafting! Keep inspiring! :-)

Thanksgiving Gatefold Mini Album

Hi everyone! TGIF! :-)

Here's another project I've been working on... I shared this gatefold die-cut album in a previous YouTube video and I decided to use it to make my Thanksgiving mini album. I LOVE my AccuCut and AccuCut dies. Because it's a larger machine than my Sizzix Big Shot, it doesn't limit the possibilities I can have to die cut. My BigShot can only cut die-cuts no bigger than 6x6/6x12. My largest Accucut cutting mat is 15x18, can you imagine! This makes it great for making box favors, layout backgrounds, etc. I love the mini album dies they sell and have a few. I can cut 2-3 different style of mini album pages in one shot, I love it! I've also been collecting (little by little cuz it's quite an investment!) tag and pocket dies and frames. None of which you could find for the BigShot or Cuttlebug.

So before we get into the mini album, I thought I'd answer some of the questions I've been getting about the AccuCut machine. I'm not an AccuCut consultant, nor am I certified on AccuCut products, so if you have specific questions, I recommend speaking with AccuCut Customer care (they are awesome!) This is just my take/feedback on being the proud owner of an AccuCut die-cutting machine. :-)

Which AccuCut machine do you have?
I have the "GrandeMARK."

About how much does a GrandeMARK cost?
It depends. I purchased mine when AccuCut was having a site special. My machine was discounted (can't remember exactly how much) and it came with a couple dies, all the different sizes of cutting mats and more.
Do your Sizzix dies work with the GrandeMARK?
YES! And I love that they do! You can purchase the Tray Adaptor that allows you to use your Sizzix dies with the GrandeMARK.

Do AccuCut dies work with my BigShot or CuttleBug die cutting machines?
Unfortunately, no (unless someone else has managed to make it work.) The AccuCut dies are substantially thicker, wider and bigger than Sizzix dies. They would not fit into the roller feed of a BigShot or CuttleBug.

Does AccuCut create custom dies?
YES they do! I haven't tried the custom die service myself yet, but I've been thinking up a butterfly design I'd like to turn into a die cut. :-)

How do I get more information on AccuCut?
Visit their website at www.accucutcraft.com.

Hope this information helps!

Now onto the gatefold.... hehe! I used the S.E.I. "Windsor" paper collection. I purchased a "Windsor" paper pack at the Scrapbook Expo in 2009. The pack includes 24 sheets of 2 sided paper, coordinating tag/die-cut sheet, brads, large fabric brads, ribbon and buttons. I forgot I had this in my stash and it worked perfectly for my Thanksgiving mini!

Do you know how to create a gatefold mini album? Let me know if a video tutorial would help. It's super easy and super fun! :-)

Check out the YouTube video of this Thanksgiving gatefold mini album HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT weekend! :-)

MFT: Just Chillin' card

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. It rained all weekend where I am... so we spent most of the weekend indoors. But I was able to sneak away this afternoon to head to my local Michael's and Joann's to catch some last minute sales. hehe! I think everyone had the same thing in mind though because the line at Michaels wrapped around to the back of the store... sigh! Oh well... it was well worth the wait though. I got a bunch of Christmas goodies for 40-50% off, plus additional 15%! Yay!

We also started decorating our house for the holidays this weekend. I usually get the decorating done the day after Thanksgiving, but since we were traveling I didn't get a head start this year... but that's okay... I had just as much fun trimming the tree with the boys as I do every year! :-)

Now about my latest project... I created this cute card using My Favorite Thing's "Pure Innocence - Wyatt Just Chillin'" stamp set. Isn't he just adorable?! I did the paper piecing technique using Graphic 45's Deluxe Edition Christmas Past papers. The snow flake was cut out using MFT's "Die-namics Let It Snowflake" die. The bottom snowflake was cut out using My Favorite Felt, the other layers cut out using the G45 DP. I used the Tim Holtz snowflake texture fade to dry emboss the blue polka dot DP. The stitching on the card was done by hand. NOTE: I do not sew! LOL! But I think it came out okay. hehe!

Other products used:

Copic markers
Spellbinders die
Basic Grey brads

Thanks for stopping by and make it a GREAT week everyone! :-)

Christmas Mini Album & Altered Box

Hi everyone! Okay, so I'm hooked on altering boxes... LOL! I can't seem to stop hehe! I especially love these boxes from A Treasure Nest. They are so fun and easy to alter. The Webster's Pages "Waiting for Santa" paper collection is so cute. I also purchased the "Sweet Season" collection and will be making another mini using it... Webster's Pages paper has such awesome quality and style, it's hard not to hoard them. hehe!

I used a bunch of products from Lindy Stamp Gang, so be sure to check out my video to see what I used. I didn't do a tutorial this time... I created this so fast, unfortunately there really wasn't any time. :-( I also used a few products from My Favorite Things including their Die-namics Rolled Rose die and Merry & Bright stamp set. Super fun stuff!

Click HERE to watch the YouTube video.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving holiday!

P.S. I was invited to be a guest designer for Bluemoon Scrapbooking, so be sure to look out for some projects from me in January! I'm so super excited, can't wait!

"Christmas Past" Altered Tray

Hi everyone. It's been a SUPER busy week for me and I haven't had a chance to really blog, YouTube, craft, etc. I'm having MAJOR withdrawals! And with Thanksgiving literally around the corner, my time will be spent enjoying the holiday with family and friends. I am thankful for my parents, my brothers, my in-laws... and most especially grateful for my husband and wonderful little boys - Jarrod, Dylan & Logan. Oh, and can't forget my baby Yorkie Nala! And there's all of you out there... my scrappy family.... my life has changed in so many wonderful, amazing ways having met all of you. I want to say "thank you" for being there, for the inspiration you bring to me and for supporting me with your comments, messages and good cheer! There is so much to be thankful for and this season, so be sure to kiss your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you. :-)

Here is the Graphic 45 "Christmas Past" altered tray I created early last week. I had so much fun turning this plain wooden box into something I can proudly display on my wall. The G45 papers are just GORGEOUS and OMG, you have to try out all the new Christmas colors by Lindy Stamp Gang. Be sure to check out their site, the Black Friday sale begins 11/26, 30% entire store (reg priced merchandise.) Coupon Code: BLACKFRIDAY. Be sure to watch my video tutorial for details on the colors I used in this project.

MFT: Jolinne Thank You Card

I created this Thank You card for my auntie, Bona's Mom. She is so sweet and is always thinking of others. She made my little man Logan the cutest custom Thomas the Train pillow for his birthday.
