MFT: "Best Friends" 12x12 Layout

My best friend Bona ("LiveLoveScrap" on YouTube, aka "KeeponScrappin" on Blogger) and I met at Starbucks a few weeks ago to hang out and swap birthday goodies. I just love Bon... we have been best gals since the 2nd grade. No matter how busy and crazy our lives get, and how much time goes between visits, we always know we can count on each other and when we see each other, it's just like we saw each other the day before. It's always nice to have someone like that in your life. I'm happy to call Bona my best friend, the sister I never had. :-) Now that I have to wipe the tears away from my eyes (hehehe!!).... let me tell you a little bit about the lay-out.... :-)

I used paper from the Prima Strawberry Kisses paper collection, which Bona gave to me at a crop we attended a few months ago. I distressed the page with my Tim Holtz paper distresser, Glimmer Misted it with Iridescent Gold and edged it with Vintage Photo distress ink. The coffee girl stamp is from My Favorite Thing's "Miss you a Latte" A'la Mode Stamp set. I just LOVE this stamp set and it was perfect for the picture of Bona and me taken in front of Starbucks. :-) I colored her in with my Copic markers and At You Spica glitter pens. I used the MFT Die-namics banner strip die & Alphabet Stamp set to write out "Best Friends" and it fit perfectly! I also used MFT's Open Scallop Border die and cut out some of the My Favorite Felt in the brown color (from the "Beautiful Garden Collection.")

Check out the video on this layout HERE.

Hope everyone is ready for the weekend --- countdown, 1 day left 'til TGIF!!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

New Projects

Hi everyone! Here are a few projects I have worked on the past week. I was busy planning my hubby's 40th surprise birthday that I didn't get much creating in. But I was putting together a package for Lily ("Lejack97" on YouTube) and I thought I'd make her something handmade... I ended up making her 2 handmade goodies. :-)

The first is this dress form. Bona had given me a stack of these gorgeous dressform die-cuts and I haven't had a chance to create anything with them yet, so I thought I'd make a little name plate for Lily using the dress form. First I painted the chipboard diecut with gesso, then painted it with my Espresso daubber by Ranger. I then rubbed Antique Gold Rub n' Buff to create a distressed, vintage look. The skirt is cut out using Graphic 45's Domestic Goddess paper. I sprayed it with Moon shadow Mist by Lindy Stamp Gang, heat set and adhered it to the chipboard. The Cameo and decorative base are from Canterbury Lane on Etsy. The flowers by iamroses.com (of course!) LOL!

I made this Greeting Farm meets Graphic 45 hanger with inspiration from the one I had made a video on a few months ago. I love Graphic 45 and The Greeting Farm Creepy Crew stamps are so wicked cool, I can't get enough of them! LOL!

Lastly, this is a Vintage Card I made for Susan, my "4000 YouTube Subscriber" giveaway winner. I again used the Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess paper collection, lots of Lindy Stamp Gang starburst stains, iamroses.com flowers, aluminum flowers form Canterbury Lane and Prima lace.

Thanks for stopping by everyone. Enjoy the rest of your week! :-)

MFT "Rolled Flower" Tutorial & Ramblings

Happy Friday everyone! Oh my gosh, are you as excited as I am about the weekend being here?? Geeesh, what a CRAZY week eh?! I am seriously going to find some time this weekend to just vegetate... hehe!! I just want to lay down, rest and catch up on the DVR, which is up to 98% (I gotta make space!) But hopefully between vegging out and the kids, I'll be able to get some projects going in my scraproom. One can only hope... and dream! hehe!

After several requests, I created a tutorial for the "rolled flowers" that I used in my Webster's Pages Shabby Chic mini album. I used the Die-namics "Rolled Flower" die by My Favorite Things. I absolutely LOVE this die! It's so fun creating these shabby, grungey rolled flowers! :-)

Take a peek at the video HERE.

Have a GREAT weekend everyone! :-)

Graphic 45 Times Nouveau Altered Storage Box

I bought these Clip-it Up storage file folders to store a bunch of my little journaling cards and small paper embellies. The file folders came in this box and I thought an opportunity to alter the box presented itself! My first thought was "Graphic 45's Times Nouveau paper collection!!!" I have been hoarding (I mean "keeping" hehe) a good amount of this paper in my G45 stash and I thought it was just about that time to use some! Are you guys like me and have a super HARD time using the Graphic 45 papers because they are too darn pretty to cut-up?! Argh, and to add to the pain... I hate cutting into the double-sided paper because it means cutting up whatever design is on the back.... oh the pain, the pain!!!! :-( But that just means I always have to have AT LEAST 2 of every paper. hehe!! Can you tell I'm a HUGE G45 fan?! :-)

Be sure to check out the video showing how I created this box HERE.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me! :-)

Paper Piecing, inspired by Rina!

For this card, I used the Basic Grey Nook & Pantry paper collection, Sizzix circle and scallop dies, Copic markers, At You Spica Glitter Pens, Stickles in "Pink", lace from A Treasure Nest, sentiment by CC Designs and the stamp is from The Greeting Farm. I used a Tim Holtz jump ring for the umbrella handle and the roses, of course (hehe!) are from www.iamroses.com.

Thanks for stopping by today! :-)

New Facebook Account & Sneak Peek at some Upcoming Projects

Hi Everyone! I finally took the plunge and created a "scrappy" Facebook account last week. Yay!! :-) I find it's easier and quicker to share pictures and daily "scrap haps" on Facebook and it's a great way to collaborate. I know, big word "COLLABORATE" hehe... this is HUGE in the work that I do (my day job, hehe!) so I'm taking it a step further into my "scrappy" life. I thought it would be so awesome to connect & keep in touch with all of you on Facebook, so be sure to add me as a friend if I haven't already sent you a friend request! I'm in there every day. Facebook is beyond addicting especially when you can take it where ever you go on your iPhone! LOL!!!

Anywho... onto the scrappy update... :-) I have a few projects in the works that I am SO SUPER excited to share with you guys! Here are some sneak peeks of my "almost-completed" Halloween mini.... AND, some of the FUN stuff I purchased recently that I can't WAIT to alter with some yummy Graphic 45 paper!!!! :-)

Thanks for popping by today and have an awesome weekend!

Here's a glimpse at my current Halloween mini album project. I just have 3 more pages to go and the finishing touches! I created lots of room for full size pictures in this mini album and I can't wait to fill it with all the FUN pictures of my kiddos this Halloween!

I purchased these 7 Gypsies holder and trays to alter. I CAN'T wait to bust out with my Graphic 45 papers and get crackin' on these! Fun, oh fun!! :-)
