Custom Flowers for a friend...

This is my 2nd post for today, so be sure to scroll down for more... :-)

I created these custom flowers for a friend. I miss making my ribbon flowers and changed them up a little bit. The flowers are adhered with removable dotto to a Boroque chip board die cut embossed in one of Tim Holtz's texture fades, then distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink. These flowers are so fun and easy to make. Be sure to check out my YouTube video on how to make these... Thanks for stopping by! :-)

My RR Journal

Paula over at "JournalArtista" on YouTube is hosting a Round Robin Art Journal swap and I was excited to get in on it. Here is my art journal, which is already en route to Michelle in Canada. I kept if VERY simple and unembellished because it still needs to make it's way to 7 artists all over the world. Once I get it back, I will fully embellish the cover and work on my pages. I'm so super excited... this is such a great way to get a sampling of art work from various artists in our scrapbooking and art journaling community... I can't wait to see the final journal! :-)

The cover of my art journal was altered using artist grade acrylic paint by Golden as well as Golden glass bead gel (LOVE this stuff!) I didn't embellish my art journal cover because it still needs to travel to 7 other artists around the world and I was afraid it would get damaged during it's long journey. I will embellish it once I receive the completed journal back...

I included a sign-in sheet where the ladies can leave their mark and a message...

I created the first art journal page, but kept is super simple... only a few layers. When I get my art journal back, I will continue to add to this page and create additional pages. I used student grade acrylic paint and a plastic wrap technique to achieve the texture. I then used Scarlet glimmer mist and stamped several different images to tie everything together. I punched out a Martha Stewart butterfly and embossed it using Moon Shadow embossing powder. The theme of my art journal is vintage/grunge butterfly.

This is the back cover of my art journal I gesso'd the page and applied light fiber paste, which I colored using 1 full dropper full of Distress Reinker in Vintage Photo. I then used my Starburst stains to fill in the gaps... I love the texture...

New Le Romantique 8x8 Layouts

Hi everyone! I've been busy pounding away on projects all weekend, on top of house-cleaning, attending a birthday party and attending the California State Fair. WOW, what a jam packed weekend! LOL! I can't believe tomorrow is the start of another work week... where do the weekends go?! :-(

I was really liking the 8x8 Le Romantique lay-out I made for a friend's mini album, that I had to make more... :-) I made one for my Mom and Dad of their 40th Wedding Anniversary, which they celebrated this past January -- congrats again Mom and Dad!! Wooo hoooooooo! What a milestone! :-) Then I took my fav pic of Jay and I taken this past April in the wine cellar at Castello di Amorosa in Napa during our 10 year anniversary weekend. All the same concept using Graphic 45's Le Romantique paper collection, which I looooooove and can't get enough of LOL!

I also included an 8x8 layout of my little man Logan, taken this past June at Millerton Lake. He was just chillin' and enjoying the ride. hehe! I love this pic of him so much, I had to scrap it. :-)

Thanks for stopping by everyone and hope you all have a GREAT week!

hugs,
Arlene

Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess Altered Tag Box

Hi everyone... so I started to get the itch to create again... LOL! I picked up one of the blank boxes that Tina over at "DreamBigLover" on YouTube gave me and I altered it! I chose the Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess paper collection (LOOOOOOVE it!) and used a bunch of Prima and Tim Holtz - what better combo than G45, Prima and Tim, my all time favs!! I created 4 custom tags that are inserted in the box... these tags can be used for greetings or any occasion... or she can keep them for herself. hehe!! :-) I had so much fun creating this and I'll be shipping it away to Tina as a little "thank you" for being the sweetest ever and for picking me up a TON of these boxes in different shapes and sizes at her local Michael's (my local Mike's doesn't carry these boxes and looks like they never will... sigh!!) I absolutely love these boxes and can't wait to make more for myself and for gifts... hehe!!! :-) Enjoy the pics!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

hugs,
Arlene :-)

Le Romantique Mini Album Page & new toy!

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've worked on a project... although I have many 1/2 done! LOL! I just haven't been in that "scrappy" mood and the mojo is at an all-time "low' right now... maybe it's the summer-time blues... dunno! :-( But I really need to pick up the pace and get some projects completed before the kids start school... cuz once that happens, my scrappy time will really be scarce!! :-(

Anyhoo... I wanted to share this mini album page I created for a scrappy "friend". Another scrappy friend brought together a group of ladies on YouTube, including myself, to create a mini album for this "friend." Each lady was invited to create a page to put into this mini album. The rules were that it had to be 8x8 (REAL challenge for me since mini albums are typically 6x6 or smaller), the paper collection had to be from Graphic 45, one page had to have room for a photo and the opposite page had to have a pocket/tags, lots of room for journaling. So here is what I created. I'm also working on a pocket page that she could add in between the ladies 'pages that will have tons of room for journaling and photos... pics to come later on that. I still have to put together the YouTube vid I did of creating this page... but I probably won't get to the editing until later tomorrow or Monday, if time permits.

Also, super exciting.... hubs and I just invested in a DSLR camera... the Canon EOS Rebel T1i... it's one of the best rated SLR cameras out there and I've been having so much fun playing with it since we got it. Hopefully I'll be able to post some of the pics from the camera soon... I just haven't had time to play with the software yet and have NO idea how to edit. LOL!!!

Hope you are all having a great weekend! Thanks for checking in. :-)

hugs,
Arlene
