I am really lovin' mermaids, so this stamp set was just PERFECT!! Here's a FUN card I created using the Who's that Mermaid stamp set and Sentiments mini:

I used 2-way glue and Art Glitter to create the shimmery effect on the mermaid's "fins." I placed a Rolled Flower, dry embossed before assembled, in the center of a Rolled Daisy. I love the look and the dimension. The sea shells are from my stash and I thought they added the perfect touch to this "under the sea" card!

Thanks for "hopping" by today!

hugs,

MFT Teasers - à la Modes Day 2!

Hi everyone and welcome to MFT's 2nd day of à la Modes teasers where the design team will be showing you the new and SUPER cute (and HIP, may I add) You are Unrepeatable - à la Modes.

I created this A2 card using some BoBunny Vicki B papers from my stash. I colored up the image using my Copic markers... is she not stinkin' adorable?! I just love that MFT has come out with stamps that are true to every day life -- I mean, come on...  who doesn't have an iPod, right?! LOL! I layered her on top of MFT cardstock in Pink Lemonade and Hot Fudge and added a Leafy Flourish to the corner, cut out with the DP. Underneath, I added a Simply Scallop Large cut with Chocolate Fudge cardstock. The sentiment is stamped onto the corner of a Textile Rectangle die cut and I have it peeking out from under the layers. The luscious pink bow was made using the satin ribbon from MFT's Pink collection of ribbons. I used one of the pink Bazzill Button Blings from my stash to the center.

Here's a close-up...

Inside the card, I stamped à la Modes girl again onto white cardstock and layered it onto more Pink Lemonade and Hot Fudge cardstock. I added two Simply Scallops Large die cuts staggered over each other, then added a Leafy flourish to repeat the design from the front of the card. I stamped the HB2U sentiment from the set... and there ya go!

Here are some details about the release this Tuesday night:

  • The MFT release is on June 21st at 10 PM EST.

La-La Land Crafts Monday Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone and welcome to La-La Land Crafts Monday Inspiration Challenge! Today I am sharing a card I created using the adorable Sweet Dreams Marci.

I used the Botannical 6x6 paper stack by Prima, colored up Marci using my Copic markers, popped her up on boosters and layered her on top of design paper and kraft cardstock. All the edges are distressed with my Tim Holtz paper edger and Ranger Vintage Photo distress ink.

The challenge theme this week is to play with pearls, lace and punches! I added some Prima lace trimmed with half-back pearls. The sentiment is stamped on a label I punched out with an EK Success Punch and the leaves around the flowers were punched out using Martha Stewart punch. I added a few additional pearls and butterflies (Martha Stewart punch) with pearls to accent the card. I included a banner behind Marci anchored with brads and some I Am Roses flowers distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Here are more pics...

Be sure to check out the La-La Land Crafts blog to check out the other inspiration challenge samples the design team has to share with you today! What a load of inspiration all on one page!

I used an array of papers on this 12x12 layout, mainly from The Guy Stack by DCWV and some Bazzill green cardstock. The other papers are from my stash. The Bingo card is from my stash, I acquired it during a kit swap over a year ago.

Here is the Copic color recipe for my Soccer Luka:

MFT Creative Challenge!

MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique.

This month, we've all been challenged to paint!  Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge!

Here is the card I created...

I used the Pink Paisley Butterfly Garden papers and MFT's Pure Innocence Blooming Good Day stamp set. Is she not adorable? I mean, I say that all the time right... but seriously, is she not?! hehe! I colored her up with my Copic markers and paper pieced her dress. I layered her on top of a Dizzy Doily I cut out in cream cardstock. The sentiment is stamped on one of the fishtail banners included in the First Award Ribbon Dies-namics set. All the edges are distressed in Vintage Photo Ranger Distress Ink for a shabby look. I replaced the flower with a pink mini Iamroses flower from my stash... in fact, I created a whole garden of flowers for PI girl using flowers from my stash and MFT's Rolled Flower, one of my all-time favorite Die-namics! I also popped in a few butterflies from the Butterflies Die-namics.

Now, how did I incorporate paint onto my project? See the little picket fence and the heart? Both are little wooden pieces that I distressed using Acrylic paints and Crackle Medium to give both a worn look.

Click HERE to watch my video on how to achieve this crackle, worn look. I hope you give it a whirl on your next project, it's super fun!

Inside my card, I just stamped PI girl again, included a sentiment from the Pure Innocence Rose stamp set. I cut out the birdcage from the Butterfly Garden paper collection for use on another project, but thought I'd pop it inside this card. :-)

Now don't forget to check out Kim's blog to see what the other MFT designers whipped up for today's Creative Challenge!

World's Best Father: LLLC Monday Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone!

I'm here today with a project for La-La Land Crafts. As you may already know, I'm guest designing with La-La Land Crafts for June and July and I've been having a blast playing along with their super creative design team! I created this Father's day card for today's challenge -- which is to use a "touch" of red. Well... my red is a little burgundy, but I'm hoping that counts!  hehe! I kept the card on the down-low... well, you know... no flowers or bling, that sorta thing. It's a "man" card, so I had to restrain myself from popping on some bling. LOL! So instead, I grabbed some of the buttons in my stash.

Isn't this little guy just adorable?! I love his little fishing hat and khakis! I colored little Fisherman Luka using my Copic markers and the paper collection I used is called The Guy Stack by DCWV. It's the perfect stack of papers for making "man" cards. :-)

Color Medium: Copic Sketch Markers

Skin: E00, E21, E11, R20, BV00 (shadowing)
Hair: C9, C7, C5, C3
Eyes: E44
Hat/button up shirt/shorts: E44, E43, E41
Tshirt/stripe on hat/Shoes: BG72, BG70
Pail: C4, C1, C00
Fishing Pole: E27, E25, E23

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out the La-La Land Crafts blog to see what the other designers have created for today's challenge!

Thanks a Bunch!

Hi everyone! I'm here today with a project for Stampers Dream!

I created this card for a scrappy friend using the Stampendous clear stamp set Daisy Thanks. Next to roses, daisies are my favorite flowers. They are simple, yet bring beauty to any setting! I especially love yellow daisies. I used the Tim Coffey Cottage Garden papers, brown and kraft cardstock. I used my old Fiskar's paper crimper and crimped the kraft cardstock to give it a corrugated look. I colored the daisies with my Copic markers then cut them out using the Spellbinders Labels Seventeen (currently out of stock.) I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set onto a banner die and anchored it with a pretty Webster's Pages sparkler. The lace, white daisies, glittered butterfly sticker and Prima Say It in Pearls are from my stash.

I can't believe the weekend is here and I'm so totally looking forward to it!! I work full time during the week and it's just been one of those super crazy weeks for me... I'm so looking forward to relaxing and enjoying some time with my boys. :-)

Be sure to stop by the Stampers Dream store. Michelle just added some new items to the store including new BoBunny 6x6 paper pads -- and I "need" to scoop up some of that Rocket Age paper by October Afternoon --- PERFECT for those little boys in your life! :-)

Have a great weekend everyone!

hugs!!
